Theses goats are not native to Hawaii but brought to the Big Island  By Captain Cook during the late 1700s. These goats compete for water and nourishment with native species. In Volcano National Park sharpshooters have been employed in an attempt to eliminate the goats in the National Park, so far unsuccessfully.

Feral goats are also hunted on the Big Island during winter months. Goat hunts are organized by by local guide services.

Commonly seen on Kona beaches are Green Sea Turtles, which are protected by law.

]]> [email protected] (Mlostphoto) https://mlostphoto.zenfolio.com/blog/2014/5/hawaii-kona-goats Fri, 02 May 2014 22:44:57 GMT National Corvette Museum Sink-hole https://mlostphoto.zenfolio.com/blog/2014/2/national-corvette-museum-sink-hole Most Corvette enthusiasts are shocked to learn of the sink-hole swallowing 8 vintage Corvettes at National Corvette Museum (NCM) in Bowling Green Ky. All of the damaged Vets resided in the Skydome section of the Museum. It is estimated the sink-hole is about 40 feet across and 25-30 feet deep.

Two of the 8 vets  are owned by General Motors on loan to the NCM the other 6 are owned by the Museum. Many of the vintage Vets on display at the NCM are privately owned, on loan to the Museum. Fortunately, none of these privately owned vets were involved in this incident.

The Vets swallowed by the sink-hole which collapsed early in the morning before the museum opened. Not one was injured.

  8. 2009 White 1.5 Millionth Corvette 

It has not yet been determined if the cars can be recovered and the extent of the damage.

South Western Kentucky is known for underground caves, however this one was a unwelcome surprise.

We visited the NCM a rely in January this year and photographed 3 of these vintage Vets in the Skydome Exhibit Area.

You can see the photos of the 2 GM owned ZRs along with the 2009 White 1.5 millionth produced Vet before they were consumed by the sink-hole.
